FRAMED:: Andi Wittmann Film

FRAMED is a pilot-project. Something Andi Wittmann brainstormed over the course of time and decided to go through with the idea.  With the help of cinematographer and Editor, Felix Urbauer, this soulful production was made possible.

With their busy lives and the hustle bustle a summer brings, these two managed to pull out a fascinating riderprofile. This film reached half a million views when first released. This film shows what Andi does best, and what he pictured this film to be, for so long.

Colorado State University students plan a Benefit Concert for children in Africa

Falling Whistles is at it again, Join everyone for the big event, this time in Fort Collins, CO!!

Be a whistleblower for peace! The Whistler Society of Colorado State University, on behalf of Falling Whistles, is throwing a benefit concert at Hodi’s Halfnote in Old Town Fort Collins on Sunday, April 24th at 7:00 p.m.

One of Colorado’s biggest local sensations, The Heyday, will be headlining the show with a medley of their pop/rock anthems. Falling Whistles Spokesperson, Yves Muya, will be there to share his story about his childhood in the Congo and speak about his current journey to end one of the deadliest wars in the world.

Falling Whistles gives a small window into the world’s largest war. Originally just a journal written about boys sent to the frontlines of war armed with only a whistle, has now launched into a campaign for peace in the war in Congo. Falling Whistles’ simple message: make their weapons our voice. They sell vintage whistle necklaces to be worn as a sign of peace. The proceeds from these necklaces go towards the rehabilitation for those affected by the war in Congo.

The Whistler Society at Colorado State’s mission is to inform the student population of how they can make a serious difference in the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Where others see chaos, we see possibility. Where others see death, we see potential for new life. Join us on Easter Sunday night and attend an event that gives back!

Tickets are $8 and proceeds will go directly to Falling Whistles.

Vostok: Worlds 1st Outerspace Beer

Vostok Space Beer has just become the world’s first beer suitable for space and space endeavors. The beer was brewed by two different groups who made it possible to develop Vostok, 4-Pines Australian Brewing company and Saber Astronautics. The name, Vostok, comes from the first manned spaceflight in history!

Why is there a need for a specialized space beer? with  ever evolving technology, tourism space travel will be available and Vostok wants to be the first on into the market. Two things need to be considered while developing alcohol in order to make it necessary to consume beer in outer space.  One, lowering the carbonation level, which helps lower the chances of space burps (which occur quite often if drinking a normal beer). The beer also has to have an enhanced flavor in order to counteract the swelling of the tongue while in orbit which can reduce sensitivity to taste.

This outer space brew is available to the average consumer to try, but are limited to Australia. Six-packs are sold for around $20.

Whistle Blowing For Peace:: Art & Music Festival

Falling Whistles and DVLP Clothing have teamed up to present a mind blowing fundraiser to help rehabilitate children of the Congo. In need of an adventure Falling Whistles found their way off the beaten path where they discovered the war affected children in the worlds largest war, in the heart of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Children which were too small to carry guns were given different weapons; whistles.

The Falling Whistles campaign launched with a simple response – make their weapon your voice and be a whistleblower for peace in Congo.

This March 26th, 2011, a music and art festival will be held in order to raise awareness for these children affected by war. It will kick off with an Art Show; local artists have created art work surrounded by what inspired them from the cause of Falling Whistles. Later that night join us for the Falling Whistles Music Festival where there will be performances by: PLACES, The Royal Heist & Take to the Oars.
